533 million Facebook users' personal information is available online for FREE

Facebook Data Leak of 533 Million Users'

A huge number of files containing Facebook users' personal information were published on Saturday in a hacking forum totally for free. There were more than 533 million users' data on those files which include users' emails, locations, phone numbers, and birthdates. 

These files were checked and found that they are legitimate and they include real information of Facebook users. But TechneSiyam has found that these data leak is actually from 2019. A Facebook representative has also confirmed that this data was actually scraped in 2019 for a vulnerability. He has also added that the vulnerability was later fixed in August 2019.

This data leak wasn't available free when it was first leaked. This was sold for thousands of dollars. But as it is available for free now, anyone can misuse this information for their needs. Any user's data can be used in Spamming, Scamming, Hacking & Marketing. 

The leak has users' information from 106 countries. The number of leaked users' by country is shown in the below list.

This is not the first time for Facebook. We have seen several data leaks of Facebook before. So, Facebook should be more serious in protecting its users' privacy.
